The South Old Bridge, N.J., Fire Department (SOBFD) has placed into service a 2016 Rescue 1, PL Custom, heavy rescue truck built on a Spartan chassis. It has a Cummins ISL9 450 hp engine to power it and a cab with a transverse compartment, seating for six with additional storage. The walk-around body is 18 feet 9 inches long and features a dry absorbent hopper, coffin style compartments, a hydraulic lift steps with a pull out tool board behind. It is also equipped with a four-bottle air cascade fill station, a 10,000-pound winch, LED compartment lighting and a front bumper with extrication tool storage.
