Apparatus - Leominster, MA, Fire Dept. Puts Ladder 1 in Service
The Leominster, MA, Fire Department has taken delivery of a 105-foot aerial built by Pierce. It's built on a Pierce Arrow XT cab and chassis which is powered by a Cummins ISX 12 500 hp engine and an Allison 4000EVS transmission. Other features include a stainless steel body, hands-free SCBA II brackets, a body designed with specialized compartmentation for ample storage during special operations needs. There is also a custom catwalk-mounted deck gun on the operator's side for an additional full-flow 750-gpm rating for a truly unique firefighting feature.
