Franklinville, NJ, Volunteer Fire Company has purchased a 2016 KME Severe Service pumper. It has a four-door, six-occupant, climate-controlled cab, raised roof, with full-height rear doors. It's powered by a 500 hp Cummins ISX-12L Diesel engine and an Allison 4000 EVS-P automatic transmission. To fight fire, it has a Hale QMAX200-23X single stage pump, 1,000-gallon UPF Poly Tank III water tank, 30-gallon Class A foam tank, and an Akron foam system. It's also equipped with a Kussmaul auto-eject battery conditioning system, a Harrison 6,500-watt generator, LED compartment lights, slide out tool trays, rescue-style body, Hurst e-draulic extrication tools, rear booster hose reel, rear hard sleeve tunnels, rear facing camera, swing down ladder arm, Hannay electric reel and an Akron Apollo deluge gun. Other equipment includes a Federal Q2B mechanical siren and an E-2 electronic siren, front discharge, LED warning lights, twin front Pioneer LED brow lights, and undercarriage compartment. It was sold through 1st Priority Fire Apparatus, Manchester, N.J. and the salesman was Skip Stinger. The cost was approximately $575,000.
