The city of Newark, N.J., received a 2016 E-One Typhoon model foam pumper with the assistance of Port Security funds. It is powered by a Cummins ISL 450-hp engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. For firefighting, it has a Hale Q Max 200-21S 2,000-gpm single-stage pump, a UPF 780-gallon water tank and 250-gallon Class B foam tank. It also features four pre-connected crosslay hose lines, two rear discharge gates and one front and they all have foam capabilities. The pumper has seating for eight, an engine tunnel storage box, a rear transverse compartment under the hosebed for storage of equipment, including pike poles, two monitors and a back-up camera. The heavy duty front bumper is called a "dock bumper."
