Passaic, NJ, Fire Department, Engine Company 1, has received a 2017 Spartan ER custom pumper built on a Spartan Metro Star cab and chassis. It is powered by a Cummins ISL 450 hp engine and an Allison transmission. To fight fire, it has a Waterous CMU 1,500-gpm pump and a 700-gallon ProPoly polypropylene tank. Other equipment includes a Smart Power 6,000-watt generator, three crosslay hose beds, two rear discharge gates and one rear intake.
