Dallas Fire-Rescue is currently investigating how one of its ladder trucks rolled into a lake on Monday, according to WFAA-TV.
The front end of the truck was submerged in the water at approximately 8 a.m. after it rolled off an embankment and into the White Rock Lake.
Cerws were responding to a technical rescue when the incident occurred.
Firefighters from Station 34 responded to a report of a sailboat trapped at the spillway of the lake.
The sailboats occupant was successfully rescued, but suddenly they found their apparatus needed a rescue of its own.
Firefighters told the news station that they have had brake problems in the past, and fire officials they are trying to determine if the accident was human error or faulty brakes.
The value of the truck is estimated at $600,000 and it's believed it will cost several thousand dollars for repairs.
