ORLANDO, Fla. --
An Orange County fire engine caught fire in Orlando on Tuesday morning, forcing officials to close a roadway.
The truck caught fire about 5 a.m. inside the Orange County fleet building on South Vineland Road, which was closed for an investigation into the blaze.
The fleet building houses county vehicles in need of maintenance. No one was at the facility at the time of the fire, officials said.
It's not known how the fire engine, which was in a service bay, ignited. Foul play is not suspected.
Sprinklers contained the fire, but the engine was destroyed by the blaze, according to an Orange County fire official.
The engine was used to service east Orange County in the Goldenrod Road and Colonial Drive areas.
The estimated cost of the fire engine is $400,000, officials said.
