A bullet went through the door of Flint Station No. 3 and hit a fire truck on Friday, according to The Flint Journal.
An exchange of gunfire occurred around 4:45 p.m. outside the station on King Avenue when the incident occurred.
No firefighters were injured, though one firefighter was standing near the truck just before it was hit.
"One of the firefighters had been out here just prior to that," Battalion Chief John Babbs told the newspaper. "Luckily, he wasn't hurt. He had just walked back into the kitchen when the firefight started."
The station was put back in service after being shut down for a short time while police secured the scene, according to the report.
