A Marion County firefighter sustained head and back injuries after the ambulance he was in rolled over Saturday morning, according to The Gainesville Sun.The crash occurred at approximately 3:16 a.m. in the 6400 block of Southwest 13th Street.The ambulance crew was returning after transporting a patient to Shands at the University of Florida when it was involved in a collision with another vehicle.The emergency vehicle rolled over and landed upright.

Three firefighters were in the ambulance and were all wearing seatbelts, officials told the newspaper.
The driver of the other vehicle had a possible head injury and was transported to Shands along with the firefighter.
The ambulance sustained extensive damage and was said to be a total loss.
