April 03--A driver fleeing police in a stolen car was injured along with a person in another vehicle in St. Paul on Wednesday morning, April 3, police said.

Paramedics took both to Regions Hospital with injuries that weren't life-threatening, said Sgt. Paul Paulos, St. Paul police spokesman.

About 7 a.m., police saw a sedan that had been reported stolen from Minneapolis near Jackson Street and University Avenue. When a squad car got behind the car, the driver fled, Paulos said.

The vehicle rear-ended a pick-up truck at Marion Street and University Avenue, about five blocks to the west, causing the pick-up truck to flip onto its roof.

The female driver of the fleeing car and a passenger in the truck that was hit were injured.

Police continue to investigate, and charges are expected against the driver who fled from police, Paulos said.
