Three NC Firefighters Injured in Rollover Crash

Three firefighters were responding to a lightning strike in heavy rain when the Wesley Chapel pumper rolled over.

Three Wesley Chapel firefighters suffered minor injuries Friday afternoon when the pumper they were in rolled over.

The firefighters were responding to a lightning strike emergency with Engine 260 when the rig rolled over just after 4 p.m., according to a post on the department's Facebook page. Heavy rain was falling when the crash happened.

The firefighters were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Friday night, the department posted that the firefighters had been released from the hospital.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol was called in to investigate the crash.
