NJ Fire Chief Booked for DWI in Apparatus

Ramapo police arrested Montvale Fire Chief Charles Lydon on Saturday night for allegedly driving drunk in a department vehicle and hitting a tree.

Police have arrested the fire chief from a department in northern New Jersey for allegedly driving drunk in a fire department vehicle.

According to News 12 Westchester, Ramapo police arrested Montvale Fire Department Chief Charles Lydon on Saturday night on suspicion of DWI after he crashed a department vehicle into a tree. No other vehicles were involved in the wreck, and it's unclear if Lydon suffered any injuries.

He has subsequently been charged with aggravated DWI.

Montvale is in Bergen County along New Jersey's northeastern border with New York.
