GA Apparatus at Crash Scene Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver
A Georgia fire apparatus blocking an accident scene was struck by a hit-and-run driver late Wednesday.
The incident happened just before 10:30 p.m. as DeKalb County crews were responding to an SUV that had struck the median along Stone Mountain Freeway in Tucker, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. A hit-and-run driver then struck the SUV, injuring three people, one critically.

Firefighters then set up an apparatus to block traffic as they handled the accident. That's when another hit-and-run driver struck the rig.
“Firefighters were blocking the scene of an accident that had already happened,” DeKalb County Fire Capt. Dion Bentley told the Journal-Constituion. “We weren’t responding. We were already there blocking the scene and someone hit the firetruck.”
No one was injured in the second accident, and no information was available on either hit-and-run drivers. Police are investigating both incidents.
