Engines Back in Service after NY Station Fire

Nov. 3, 2021
The North Massapequa FD has placed two engines back in service after they were refurbished and upgraded following a Christmas Day fire in 2019.

The North Massapequa Fire Department on Long Island recently placed two engines back in service after a devastating fire at the agency's headquarters nearly two years ago.

Thirteen nearby fire departments assisted with the Christmas Day fire in 2019 that led to the vehicles being damaged.

The two engines, a Pierce Lance and a Pierce Velocity, required refurbishment as well as significant upgrades to improve their "efficiency and function."
