Apparatus Accident in NE Requires Extrication
Firefighters from Omaha were responding to an emergency early Sunday morning when they were involved in an accident with a passenger vehicle.
According to WOWT News, the wreck happened near Martha and 10th Streets when an apparatus was responding to a medical emergency.
According to the Omaha Fire Department, the incident took place as the passenger vehicle went around a stopped SUV, causing the accident with the fire truck.
Officials said the person in the passenger car needed to be extricated before being transported to a local hospital, while the SUV driver was evaluated and transported as well.
The accident is currently under investigation and the fire vehicle involved is inoperable, per Omaha fire officials.
