Historic Apparatus Purchase Made By Chicago Fire Department
In what is thought to be one of the biggest fire apparatus acquisitions ever made in North America, the Chicago Fire Department (CFD) has formally placed a historic order for new emergency equipment through Fire Service, Inc.
The procurement represents more than $100 million in urgently needed frontline emergency response equipment for the City of Chicago and comprises 42 new E-ONE pumpers, 38 new E-ONE ladder trucks and 40 new Wheeled Coach ambulances.
The department's ongoing dedication to firefighter safety, operational preparedness, and dependable emergency response capabilities for Chicago's citizens and visitors is reflected in this historic investment.
“Fire Service, Inc. is honored to partner with the Chicago Fire Department on this monumental investment in public safety,” said Shawn Junker, President of Fire Service, Inc. “This order represents a major step forward in ensuring firefighters have access to modern, dependable apparatus designed to meet the demands of one of the busiest fire departments in the nation.”
For CFD teams responding to fires, rescues, EMS calls and other crises across the city, the equipment will offer improved operating performance, updated safety systems and increased reliability.
The order, which is one of the biggest equipment purchases in the history of the sector, highlights the growing national need for fleet renewal among fire departments dealing with outdated equipment and rising service expectations.
Fire Service, Inc. is still dedicated to providing industry-leading equipment sales, maintenance, and long-term fleet support to fire departments around the region.
