A Boca Raton Fire Rescue truck parked at the scene of a crash was rear-ended on Interstate 95 on Wednesday morning, resulting in four people, including firefighters, being taken to a hospital.

Just after 6 a.m., firefighters responded to a crash in the south express lanes of the interstate, and as they were finishing at the scene, one of the trucks was “in a serious collision,” the fire department said in a statement.

The fire truck was in the express lanes blocking the initial crash when a 21-year-old man collided with the back of it, Lt. Indiana Miranda, a spokesperson for Florida Highway Patrol, said in an email.

Three firefighters were inside the truck at the time, the department said. One was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, and two others were taken for a precautionary evaluation. The driver was taken to a hospital as a trauma alert.

Miranda said none of the people injured have life-threatening injuries.

FHP is investigating.
