Lyons, SD -- In just over two years since Rosenbauer rolled-out their own custom chassis, called the Commander, the company has already delivered its 500th unit.
The York, NE Fire Department is the recipient of this milestone fire truck, and they were just as excited to receive the truck as Rosenbauer was to build it.
Since the very first Commander chassis unit was delivered in April 2012, Rosenbauer has been ramping up production of the custom chassis as the demand for the Commander increases. Currently, Rosenbauer produces nearly 40 Commanders per month. Thus far, there are over 160 departments that are proud owners of the Rosenbauer Commander. Many chose the Commander over others because of its smooth ride, great visibility and unbelievably quiet cab.
“We are thrilled with the outpouring of positive responses for the Commander,” said Rich Schalter, CEO of Rosenbauer Motors, LLC. “We couldn’t have hoped for a better reception to our latest innovation, and we look forward to customizing our product to meet our customers’ needs.”
In 2013 Rosenbauer received 226 orders for Commanders, with 30 units requested by Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue in a single order.
As 2014 reaches its midpoint, Rosenbauer is on track to have a record year for Commander sales.
