Toyne will unveil its PRV XL edition pumper at FDIC.

At the 2015 Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) event, there was quite a buzz in the Toyne booth. The Iowa-based fire apparatus manufacturer introduced attendees to their brand new Priority Response Vehicle (PRV) and has since been named one of the ˜Top 9 Most Interesting Firefighting Products of 2015" by FireRescue1.com. During this year's event, which takes place at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN on April 18th through the 23rd, Toyne will unveil the PRV XL Edition.

The PRV XL Edition, which boasts an additional 87.25 cubic feet of compartment space than the PRV, also includes the versatile pump panel that is available as a "slide out and down," slide out tool board or stationary mounted in a compartment or the cab, allowing departments to select the pump panel placement that best fits their needs. The PRV XL, just like the PRV, has been designed to do the work of two apparatus, as well as to be the first apparatus on the scene.

The PRV XL Edition also includes the versatile pump panel that is available as a "slide out and down," slide out tool board or stationary mounted in a compartment or the cab.

"We're looking forward to displaying the new PRV XL Edition," said Mike Schwabe, President of Toyne. "The PRV has gone over very well for us and we continue to receive great feedback from fire departments on the enclosed pump panel options and maximized storage space."

The apparatus, which is a Toyne Demo, features a welded stainless steel body, Spartan Metro X MFD 10-inch raised roof cab and chassis, UPF 1,000-gallon tank and a Hale Q-Max 2,000 gpm pump. Schwabe went on to say; "If FDIC 2016 is anything like 2015, we anticipate being very busy in the booth again this year."

In addition to featuring the PRV XL, Toyne will also be displaying a custom top mount pumper built for Sublette, IL Fire Protection District. Sublette's Toyne Tailored Apparatus features a bolted painted stainless steel body, UPF 1,000-gallon tank, Hale Q-Max 1,500 gpm pump and a Foam Pro 2001 Class A foam system with a TFT XFT-NJ monitor with a TFT 18-inch manual Extend-A-Gun. Built on a Spartan Metro Star LFD 10-inch raised roof cab and chassis, their apparatus is powered by a Cummins ISL engine and Allison 3000 EVS transmission. An Onan 6kw hydraulic generator and Fire Research telescoping lights will assist Sublette firefighters when on the call. Sublette is slated to accept delivery of their new Toyne after FDIC 2016.

During FDIC, attendees can also get a sneak peek of the chassis for Tully, NY Fire District 1's new Toyne Pumper. Their Spartan Metro Star MFD 20-inch raised cab and chassis will be featured in Spartan's booth. Tully NY's Toyne Top Mount Pumper is currently in production, and is expected to be delivered summer 2016.
