E-ONE Expands Production Capacity in Ocala, FL
E-ONE announced a $23.5 million expansion in its manufacturing facility, which will increase the company's aerial production capacity by 35 percent and shorten the time it takes for fire departments to obtain vital equipment that helps maintain community safety.
Modern ladder trucks and aerial firefighting platforms are becoming more and more necessary for North American fire departments to serve urban and suburban emergency response. In addition to increasing manufacturing efficiency throughout its Ocala, FL, facility, the expansion will help E-ONE better satisfy this rising demand.
"This investment reflects E-ONE's unwavering commitment to the firefighting industry," said Mike Virnig, President, Specialty Vehicles segment at Terex Corporation. "Every day of reduced delivery time means people and property are better protected, and that drives our continuous improvement in manufacturing excellence."
Key benefits of E-ONE’s facility expansion
Boost aerial manufacturing capacity: E-ONE will be able to shorten delivery times and increase aerial output by 35% thanks to expanded production capabilities.
Extend manufacturing facilities: To support ladder production and assembly activities, additional structures will be built in addition to expanding the current assembly, fabrication, and painting facilities.
Expand and upgrade the paint facility: By doubling the scale of paint operations, production throughput, quality, and overall efficiency will all be improved.
Create a center of excellence for ladder construction: By addressing present production limitations, a specialized ladder manufacturing plant will enable future capacity development.
Focused aerial body assembly and completion: Build a new, concentrated facility to enhance the aerial complex's flexibility, assembly capacity, and line rate output.
Reduce testing bottlenecks: By building a second test pit at the Ocala site, all E-ONE product lines will have better product flow and no single point of failure.
In the next months, state and municipal lawmakers, local fire chiefs, E-ONE fire equipment dealers, and community leaders will attend a groundbreaking ceremony at E-ONE's plant in Ocala.
