Cary, IL, Fire Protection District Gets 100-foot Platform Aerial

The Cary, IL, Fire Protection has taken delivery of a 100-foot rear-mount platform aerial built by Sutphen. It is built on a Sutphen Monarch heavy-duty cab and chassis with a 62-inch extended cab and a 10-inch raised roof. It is powered by a Cummins L9 450-hp engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. To fight fire, it has a Waterous CSU 1,500-gpm single-stage pump and a 300-gallon water tank. Other features include a Federal Signal Q2B mechanical siren, Vanner VLT 3,000-watt inverter, Whelen warning and scene lighting, FRC Spectra scene lighting, two Task Force Tip monitors and two Akron Brass monitors.
