Apparatus - Palmer, PA, Municipal Fire Dept. Gets Tractor-Drawn Aerial Ladder Quint
The Palmer, PA, Municipal Fire Department (PMFD) has taken delivery of a new Pierce Arrow XT, 100-foot tractor-drawn aerial ladder quint. The apparatus is powered by a Cummins X15 600-hp engine and an Allison 4000EVS transmission. To fight fire it has a 2,000-gpm pump and a 300-gallon tank. It's also equipped with a transverse compartment located behind the pump and two cross-lay hose beds. Inside the compartments, there are slide-out tool trays and roll-out equipment drawers. It also has LED warning lights, a rear-vision camera and a Harrison 10,000-watt hydraulic generator.
