Norristown Fire Department, Montgomery County, PA, has taken delivery of a 2018 E-ONE Typhoon 78-foot quint especially design for its hilly terrain. E-ONE specifically designed the apparatus so the aerial jack deployment were compatible with Norristown's terrain. The unit is built on a four-door cab and chassis with seating for seven, power by a Cummins L9 450-hp engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. It is equipped with a Hale QMax150-23L single-stage pump and a 500-gallon UPF Poly Tank III. Other features include a Fire Research Corp. InControl 400 pressure governor, a Trident air primer, Kussmaul auto-eject battery conditioner, Whelen Pioneer LED scene lights, Hurst Strong Arm extrication tools, Akron Brass ladder pipe and a Federal Q2B mechanical siren.
