The new B60 hydraulic platform from Rosenbauer is a high-end operational device for professional and industrial fire departments. Everything about the vehicle is state-of-the-art and has been specially developed for industrial fire service applications, ranging from robust construction to multifunctional use as a height rescue device, for fighting fires, and for technical operations.
High rescue capacity
The rescue capacity is one of the highlights of the new B60: up to five people can be safely carried to the ground from a height of 60 metres. The high payload of 500 kg is achieved by, among other things, consistent lightweight construction and a targeted optimization of the cage. Access to the cage is possible from both the front and rear. Heavy-duty stretchers can be used for transporting people lying down and anchored either to the cage railing or the cage floor. As a fully valid second rescue route option, the B60 also has a rescue ladder running along the telescopic boom sets. The rear cage access point leads directly to the ladder set, and the rungs levelling can be adjusted at the touch of a button to make descent as safe as possible.
Ready for fire fighting
With its technical fire fighting equipment, the B60 can be deployed immediately for fire fighting. In the rear of the vehicle is the supply for the fire fighting water from the on-site hydrant network, in the pivot mounting a special rotary feedthrough, and along the aerial appliance a telescopic waterway (TWS) into the cage. The cage turret, which is permanently connected to the TWS, can deliver up to 3,800 litres per minute. If there is too much heat or other hazards for the cage crew, the B60 can be operated while unmanned. Both the aerial appliance as well as the cage and the turret can be remotely controlled.
Secure footing
The B60 has a five-part telescopic main boom and a two-part cage boom with high-performance hydraulics. The secondary element of the cage boom can also be telescopically extended and retracted. In addition, the rescue cage can be moved up or down through 180° via the second cage boom and can thus also be used for operational sites at the rear of buildings. The well-proven hydraulic horizontal-vertical jacking system ensures firm stability. The jacks can be continuously adjusted and extended up to 9 metres. A millimetre-accurate jacking width monitoring ensures that the optimum horizontal reach is available in every operational situation.
Safe working
Numerous automatic functions make handling the B60 safer. These include, among others, the automatic return function of the rescue cage, especially important if it has been tilted over rooftops and is no longer visible from the main control station, or the Target Memory System (TMS), which allows the storage of different cage positions and an automatic repositioning back to them. The lighting concept of the B60 is also geared for safety: bright LEDs illuminate the cage, LED floodlights in the cage floor, on the cage front and on the telescopic boom set illuminate the operational site. As with every fire fighting truck for the industry, the B60 was designed in close collaboration with its users. And, as with every Rosenbauer hydraulic platform, safety, reliability and functional performance are paramount.
