Two Ambulances Destroyed in Fire at NY Station

Mohawk Valley Ambulance Corps lost two of its vehicles after a blaze broke out at the agency's Salisbury station, which also sustained significant fire and smoke damage.

Two New York ambulance service's vehicles were destroyed in a fire at agency's station Monday.

The blaze broke out at the Mohawk Valley Ambulance Corps' Station 3 in Salisbury, the service said in an online update. The station is used for cold storage of spare vehicles and corporate records.

Both ambulances lost in the fire were out of service at the time, awaiting repairs, according to the service. Along with the vehicles, the station also sustained signficant fire and smoke damage.

Salisbury and Dolgeville firefighters responded to the blaze and were able to put it out. No one was hurt in the incident.

The ambulance service says that its "ability to respond to emergency service requests, although slightly hindered by this event, will remain mostly unaffected."
