Two Delaware EMS workers and two civilians were injured when an alleged drunken driver rear-ended an ambulance over the weekend.
The accident happened at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday as Smyrna County's American Legion Ambulance Service Station 64 vehicle was transporting a patient in Dover, Delaware State News reports. That's when Justin Pawlowski, 35, slammed into the rear of the ambulance, according to Dover police.
I would like to take a minute and ask everyone to say a prayer for all the first responders working everyday. Last night...

Pawlowski broke his leg and suffered other minor injuries after the crash pinned him inside his vehicle. A passenger inside the vehicle also was hospitalized with a shoulder injury.
An ambulance medic was knocked unconscious for several hours and suffered a severe concussion in the crash, according to the News. Another EMS worker also was taken to the hospital, but the accident didn't injure the patient in the ambulance.
Once he's released from the hospital, Pawlowski will be charged with one count of first-degree vehicular assault and two counts of second-degree vehicular assault, as well as first-degree reckless endangering, driving under the influence and other traffic violations, the News added.
