EMTs, Trainee Injured in Head-On NC Ambulance Crash
Two North Carolina EMTs and a trainee were injured when their ambulance was struck head-on by a car Friday.
The accident happened just past noon in Rolesville, WRAL-TV reports. That's when a four-door sedan crossed the center line and collided with a Wake County EMS ambulance.
The unit was carrying any patients at the time, but two EMTs and a trainee suffered minor injuries in the crash, Wake County EMS said. The car's driver was taken to the hospital, and her condition wasn't known, but she is expected to recover, according to WRAL.
The ambulance and car sustained major damage in the crash. A tire from the ambulance was knocked off, and the driver's side of the cab was crumpled.
Police told WRAL that charges will be filed against the woman driving the car.
"We wish a full and speedy recovery to everyone involved," Wake County EMS stated in an update.
