OH Department Asks Drivers to Be Alert after Ambulance Crash
An Ohio fire department is calling on drivers to be vigilant for emergency apparatus after one of its ambulance was struck by a vehicle.
The accident happened early Wednesday as the Parma Fire Department's Medic 5 unit was responding to a medical call, the department stated in an online update. That's when the front of the ambulance was struck by another vehicle.
No one was injured in the accident, and no other details were released about how the crash happened. A photo from the scene shows the ambulance sustained extensive damage to the hood and the front driver's side of the unit.
"Fortunately the firefighters and vehicle driver were not injured but the potential is always there and bears testament to being constantly aware of emergency vehicles as we go through our daily life," the department stated.
