Ambulance Crash on Mississippi Highway Leaves Patient Dead, EMS Crew Hurt
A head-on crash on a Mississippi Friday night left an ambulance patient dead and others, including the EMS crew, injured.
The Pafford EMS ambulance was headed to a hospital when it was hit head-on by a Ford F-150, headed south in the northbound lanes, WLBT reported.
Joe Case, 48, who was driving the ambulance, and EMT Jonathan Haverson, 23, were flown to a trauma center for treatment of serious injuries.
Michael Hawkins, 65, the patient, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Terencio Powell, 38, the truck driver, also was transported for injuries.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
