Man Wearing FF's Uniform Steals Chicago Ambulance, Car

Chicago police are searching for a suspect who is accused of stealing an ambulance and then telling a driver he needed to use his car for an emergency before fleeing with it.

A man wearing a firefighter's uniform is accused of stealing a private Chicago ambulance a car Saturday.

According to police, a suspect took off with a LifeLine ambulance at about 10 a.m. and drove it to the 200 block of East Lake Shore Drive, WGN-TV reports. He then exited that vehicle and told a 47-year-old man that he needed his car to respond to an emergency.

The driver of the stolen car described the suspect as wearing a firefighter's uniform. The man also told police that the suspect took property from the ambulance and put it in the car before fleeing, according to WGN.
