Apparatus - Gary, IN, Fire Department Puts Custom Pumper in Service

The Gary, IN, Fire Department has taken delivery of a custom pumper built by Pierce. It is built on a Pierce Saber cab and chassis, powered by a Cummins 450-hp engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. To fight fire it has a Waterous 2,000-gpm pump and a 500-gallon water tank. Other equipment include Whelen Warning and scene lights and a Federal Q2B siren.
