Motorcyclist Killed after Bike Collides with Dallas Fire Truck

The Dallas engine was responding to an incident with its lights and siren activated when the motorcycle hit it.

A person was killed Sunday after a collision involving a motorcycle and a Dallas Fire-Rescue truck, officials say.

Dallas police responded to a call about 8:35 p.m. Sunday about a collision involving a motorcycle and a fire truck.

The preliminary investigation determined the motorcycle was driving south on Skillman Street when it collided with DFR Engine 17 as it was turning left onto La Vista Drive, police said.

The engine was responding to an incident with its lights and sirens on when it was struck, department spokesperson Jason Evans said.

The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital, where he later died, police said.

No additional details about the accident were immediately available.
