CA Department Orders Four Custom 4x2 Pumpers and a Custom 4x4 Pumper from KME

These new vehicles will join the existing fleet of more than 50 KME units currently in service within San Bernardino County .

NESQUEHONING, PA – Oct. 16, 2023 KME, a subsidiary of REV Group, Inc., and a leading manufacturer of fire apparatus, is pleased to announce San Bernardino County has placed an order for four custom 4x2 pumpers and one custom 4x4 pumper. These new vehicles will join the existing fleet of more than 50 KME units currently in service within the county.

The custom pumpers boast a range of key features designed to optimize performance and efficiency. These features include:

  • Cummins X12 500 HP Engine
  • Allison 4000 EVS Transmission
  • Steertek NXT Front axle system
  • Hale QMAX 1500 GPM Single Stage Pump
  • 500 Gallon Water Tank with 30 Gallon Foam Tank
  • 143” Flatback Body
  • FoamPro 2001 Foam System

Covering an impressive area of 20,160 square miles, San Bernardino County is the largest county in the continental United States. It encompasses extremely diverse environments ranging from the Los Angeles County line on the west, to the Colorado River on the east, and extends to the Nevada State line and Kern and Inyo counties on the north.
