Nashville, TN, Fire Truck Crashes after Firefighter Driving Falls Ill
A Nashville fire truck crashed Thursday afternoon after the firefighter behind the wheel suffered a medical emergency.
The engine hit poles, parked vehicles and a chiropractic clinic.
The firefighter was taken to a hospital for treatment while two civilians suffered minor injuries after jumping out of the way, WTVF reported.
Dr. Kevin Bradshaw described watching the rig headed for the building: "Everybody just came out, and then you could just hear that truck coming. I just… I was standing in the room, and I just saw it coming straight towards the glass, and I was like there’s a fire truck about to come into our building."
"It came in, and I just kind of watched it come in, and there it was. It’s like one of those movies that you see where everybody vanishes out of the driver’s seats and the car just running to buildings and stuff—that’s what it felt like in that moment."
