Milwaukee firefighters jumped from the burning engine after it was involved in a head-on crash with a car.

The crew was returning from a call when a car crossed the center line and hit the fire truck, Milwaukee Fire Chief Aaron Lipski told WISN.

The firefighters immediately assisted the two occupants of the car including one who was trapped. They were transported to a hospital for a checkup.

Lipski said the firefighters were shaken up but not physically injured.

The rig will likely be deemed a total loss.
