Three Memphis Firefighters Injured Collision Involving Pumper

Three of four Memphis firefighters responding to a call were taken to the hospital after their pumper collided at an intersection.

A collision involving a Memphis Fire Department pumper sent three firefighters to the hospital.

Qwanesha Ward, the fire department's public information officer, told ActionNews5.com that the firefighters were responding to a call when the crash happened at South Highland Street and Southern Avenue around 10:30 a.m.

Four firefighters were on their way to a call when the crash happened.

Ward said the driver of the vehicle that collided with the pumper was treated on scene and did not need to go the hospital. The fourth firefighter was also uninjured.

Officials told local media that they believed the pumper was totaled in the crash, which sent the pumper into a utility pole where it hit the front, center of the cab.
