Tanker 1 Hauls 2,500 Gallons for Clintwood, Va.

Firefighters with the Clintwood Volunteer Fire Department, Dickenson County, Va., recently took delivery of a 2015 Smeal tanker built on a Freightliner cab and chassis.

Firefighters with the Clintwood Volunteer Fire Department, Dickenson County, Va., recently took delivery of a 2015 Smeal tanker built on a Freightliner cab and chassis. It's powered by a Cummins 500 hp ISX engine and an Allison EVS4000 transmission. To fight fire, it has a Waterous 1,250-gpm pump backed by a 2,500-gallon tank. Other equipment includes a Zico swing down portable tank bracket, Newton 10-inch side and rear dump valves, LED compartment lights, a Kussmaul auto-eject system, LED warning lights and a Federal Q2B mechanical siren.
