Milton, DE, Volunteer Fire Company, in Sussex County, has purchased a 2018 Spartan ERV pumper-tanker. It is built on a Spartan Gladiator cab and chassis with four doors and seating for eight in Bostrom Firefighter seats, and a 10-inch raised roof. It is powered by a 500 hp Cummins engine and an Allison 4000EVS automatic transmission. To fight fire, it has a  Waterous CSU 1,500-gpm, single-stage pump, a 2,500-gallon UPF Poly Tank III water tank, with a 30-gallon foam tank, and Hypro Foam Pro Model 2002 foam system. Other features include a Kussmaul auto-eject battery conditioner, LED compartment lights, a Smart Power 8,000-watt generator, Whelen LED warning lights, Federal Q2B mechanical sirens, front discharge, rescue style body, high rise pack, swing out tool board, slide-out tool trays, rear R.O.M. roll-up doors, a Hannay electric reel and Genesis extrication tools. It was sold through Fesco Emergency Sales, Elkridge, Md. The salesman was Pete Laake, Sr.
