Hedgesville, WV, Volunteer Fire Company, in Berkeley County, has taken delivery of a 3,000-gallon elliptical tanker built by Pierce Mfg. on a Kenworth cab and chassis. It is powered by a Cummins X-15 600-hp engine and an Allison 4500EVS transmission. To fight fire, it has a Waterous CSU C20C 1,500-gpm single-stage pump a 3,000-gallon UPF Poly Tank III with a stainless steel wrap and a Trident air primer. It is also equipped with a Kussmaul auto-eject battery conditioner, a Zico swing-down portable tank lift, Newton 10-inch dump valves on the sides and rear, and a Federal Signal Q2B mechanical siren.
