Watch Ladder Pipe Fail Los Angeles County Firefighters
A ladder pipe malfunctioned while Los Angeles County firefighters were battling a massive blaze at a commercial building Friday in South El Monte.
Raw video from a witness—which was posted online—showed the ladder pipe fail mid-stream. The ladder pipe failure can be seen at around the 6:57-minute mark of the video.
Los Angeles County fire crews attacked the blaze from a defensive position when they arrived on the scene, and they used electric saws to enter the single-story structure, KABC-TV reports.
No one was injured in the fire, and the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
