A Pennsylvania fire apparatus crashed into a motorcycle late Sunday.

The accident happened shortly before midnight as a York City Department of Fire/Rescue apparatus was headed to a residential blaze, the York Daily Record reports. According to state police, who are investigating the incident, the apparatus slowed down as it approached a red light at an intersection, and the vehicle's driver-side tire collided with the front of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, who wasn't wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike, and he was taken to the hospital with severe injuries. The three firefighters in the apparatus were not injured, according to the Daily Record.

The sound of the crash can be heard in footage from a nearby doorbell camera, which also captured the fire apparatus heading toward the intersection.
