Apparatus Provided to Flood-Ravaged Triadelphia, WV, Fire Department
When a wall of water destroyed the Triadelphia fire station last week, an ambulance, a rescue rig and a brush truck were lost.
Residents and others, including some from out of state, have done more than send condolences and prayers. They stepped up in a way that has overwhelmed firefighters, Chief David Patterson told WTRF.
The Imperial Volunteer Fire Department in Pennsylvania contributed a rescue truck while Brooke County donated an ambulance. Voltz Wagon Subaru in Wheeling provided three side-by-side vehicles and Shultz Ford donated a pickup truck.
“Fire Department relief mission of western Pennsylvania reached out to us and told us they had a fully equipped rescue pumper that we could borrow as long as we needed it. And, they would bring it down and donate it to us for this community. I can’t say enough. Like i told you guys before, this community has come together. I’ve got people from states I don’t even know where to come in and offer and help people is just an influx. I’ve got volunteers coming down. I’ve got equipment here that needs operators. I turned around and I got an operator for every piece of equipment."
