Two firefighters were seriously injured Monday when their fire apparatus collided with a tractor-trailer and rolled over in Lee.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened just before 2 p.m. on E US Highway 90 at NE CR-255 when the firefighters were responding to a reported fire.
A semi with a flatbed trailer collided with the Madison County fire truck at the intersection, according to WCTV.
“The firetruck then overturned and the semi collided with a utility pole,” a release from the Florida Highway Patrol stated. In a video posted by WCTV, it appears the fire truck was a tanker.
Police said the firefighters were seriously injured and two people on the semi sustained minor injuries.
The crash of the crash is under investigation my multiple agencies.
