Lambeau Field 9/11 Stair Climb

Registration is open for the ninth annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb that takes place on the steps of Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI, on Sept. 11, 2021. The event, which is co-sponsored by Pierce Manufacturing and the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, isn’t just for first responders but for all who want to take part in honoring the 343 firefighters who died at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.
Last year’s event was held virtually because of the pandemic. The 2019 event’s record attendance of 2,700 residents, firefighters and local businesses raised more than $135,000 to directly benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

NFFF Launches Leadership Website
The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s new “Legacies in Leadership” website contains a series of interviews that capture thoughts and advice from past and present fire service leaders to the next generation of fire service influencers. These trailblazers share their educational and entertaining “war stories.” They are the front-runners of the American fire service, who are paying it forward with what they learned during their service time.
Viewers will gain perspectives on how the fire service has changed and what the future might hold.
Among the videos that are featured on the website are interviews with the late Chief Alan Brunacini; Chief Dennis Compton, most recently of the Mesa, AZ, Fire Department; Bill Webb, who is the executive director of the Congressional Fire Service Institute; Chief Charles Hood of the San Antonio Fire Department; Dr. Denise Smith; and Congressman Steny Hoyer, who is the majority leader of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Video topics include segments on leadership, service and respect.

The department is led by Fire Chief Steven Davis and comprises 14 fire stations that serve an area of nearly 100 square miles and a population of more than 250,000.
