FRANKLIN, Ind. --

The roof of a fire house under construction in Franklin collapsed over the weekend.

Sometime early Saturday morning, a passer-by noticed the wooden trusses on the building had fallen in and called police.

But officials said there doesn't appear to be any damage to the concrete part of the building.

"We hate to see any setbacks, but from what we could see everything looked like it was up to par, for what we know," said Ryan Piercefield with the Franklin Fire Department. "But, obviously we're firefighters, not contractors."

Officials said the engineers with the construction company will inspect the damage Monday morning.

It's the first new fire station in Franklin in 30 years.
