Nearly 300 Apply for Pa. Firefighter Job Openings
May 27--Nearly 300 people interested in becoming a city firefighter returned applications to the city of Erie's Human Resources office, and officials say the pool includes African-American, Latino and female candidates.
Notarized applications had to be returned to Cook's office, with a $50 check or money order, by May 17.
Cook said 295 people returned applications, which became available on May 6.
Cook said the next step is a written exam, scheduled for July 13.
