Mich. Chief Fired Over Facebook Postings

Oct. 31, 2015
The Harper Woods assistant chief got into a heated discussion on open carry on Facebook.

An assistant chief is trying to get his job back after a series of postings on Facebook lead Harper Woods officials to fire him.

Michael Head began posting responses to Mickey Ryan Goode's post on the open carry of firearms debate. The two got into a heated debate on the topic and Goode took screenshots of the posts, which included a racial slur.

The screenshots were sent to Harper Woods officials with a complaint letter about the employee, ClickOnDetroit.com reports.

The television station received paperwork that Head apologized for losing his cool during the online posts.

Head's attorney advised him not to speak about the incident as they work to get him back on the department.
