A unique educational and networking opportunity awaits select students during Firehouse World in San Diego.
The Firehouse World Ambassador Program is seeking students who are registered in a college or university fire science program to provide support to the Firehouse staff between Jan. 31 and Feb. 4. Each student needs to commit to volunteering a minimum of 16 hours during the show.
The Ambassadors will be able to attend the eight-hour Future Firefighters Seminar on Jan. 31. The program provides unprecedented access to the decision makers that sit on oral the boards and are responsible for all of the phases of the hiring process.
"The Future Firefighter Experience is the most recognized entry-level firefighter training event to date," said Firehouse Editor-in-Chief and Conference Director Timothy Sendelbach. "This event will prepare you, the candidate, to become a highly trained and excellent firefighter candidate."
Upon completion you will have the necessary tools to compete for a career in the fire service anywhere. During this industry-leading event you will have the opportunity to learn from the best instructors the fire service has to offer.
Ambassadors will be assigned to support the training support team and classroom and registration areas or serve as instructor liaisons.
Students will receive a complimentary full conference pass, which gives access to the opening ceremony, conference sessions and exhibit hall. They'll also receive a complimentary one-year e-subscription to Firehouse magazine and Firehouse Ambassador attire.
"As a firefighter I think we need to pass the baton," Sendelbach said. "We need to look a the next generation and when we educate them through Firehouse, we not only give them the opportunity to meet the bar we set, but raise that bar to the next level."
The 2016 Firehouse World Ambassador Program is being provided in partnership with American Military University and Fire Alumni.
