A firefighter in Shreveport is on paid administrative leave after he was arrested for incident behavior with a juvenile and prostitution.
According to a news report published by The Shreveport Times, Brian Garza, 35, was arrested Tuesday by detectives from the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit and Caddo Sheriff deputies on charge of incident behavior with a juvenile and computer aided solicitation of a minor and prostitution.
The newspaper reported police learned Garza left the station while he was on-duty and planned on meeting a 13-year-old juvenile and her mother for sex as part of a routine sting.
Police were involved in an extended conversation with Garza over the internet. Garza allegedly thought the person on the other end was the juvenile’s mother, but it was really a state trooper, according to the paper. An arrangement to meet was made and the arrest was made.
The newspaper reported at least two other Shreveport firefighters have been arrested in 2015, both on battery charges, one against another fire department employee and another against his girlfriend.
