Chicago Firefighters in Hot Seat over Station Sex

A group of Chicago firefighters are facing disciplinary action over allegations they looked the other way while a colleague had sex with a woman at a South Side fire station.

The Chicago Sun Times reports that as many as a dozen firefighters, some of whom have already retired, stand accused of "varying degrees of not paying attention or looking the other way," sources said about the trysts between another firefighter and a woman who was his girlfriend at the time.

The firefighter accused of engaging in the station sex is facing either a lengthy suspension or termination, City Hall sources said.

"The Chicago Fire Department does not tolerate any conduct unbecoming on its long tradition of valor and professionalism," department spokesman Larry Langford said in an emailed statement.

Firehouse sex is strictly off-limits, and no visitors are allowed in Chicago fire stations after 10 p.m.
